# Updates

1. **Sign out** of Mute inside the extension, then **fully quit** the host application (required for a clean update, especially in After Effects).
2. Download the new build (e.g. from Gumroad or your website).
3. Install the new `**.zxp`\*\* the same way as a fresh install. With Anastasiy, **remove** the old `com.mographfactory.mute` entry, then install the new ZXP.
4. Restart the host app and **sign in** again.

If an update still fails, delete the `**com.mographfactory.mute`\*\* folder from the CEP `extensions` path above and reinstall.
